14 Weeks

How far along: 14 Weeks.

How big is baby: 3.5 inches! Or roughly a lemon. Crazy.

Total weight gain: -1lb still.

Maternity Clothes: Nothing new to report.

Sleep: Still pretty easy. I’m waiting for the surge of energy that is supposed to come with my second trimester. So far, the best I can report is that I am no longer spending my lunch napping.

Best moment of the week: FELT THE BABY MOVE. More on that in a minute.

Food Cravings: Cornbread.

Food Aversions: Still a lot. Beef, Asian food of all shapes and sizes, some veggies.

Symptoms: It’s been a relatively quiet week as far as symptoms go. Still extra emotional and extra pimply, but not too exhausted, been feeling good, and no crazy aches or pains to report.

Movement: Okay. So I wasn’t expecting to feel any movement until week 17, 18, possibly not even until Week 20 or later, so I was pretty surprised when I felt a little movement. I was on a walk with Duke and I felt (what felt like) something the size of my finger tip (or maybe a 13 week utero baby’s foot…) drag down the INSIDE of my abdomen for about an inch. It took me about 3 seconds to connect the dots and realize, “Oh my goodness, that might have been the baby!” Now, I wasn’t going to tell anyone because I felt like people were going to laugh and tell me it was way too early, but after a google search and a few chat forums visited, I had read people describing the exact same feeling as early as 11 weeks. Add to that it was in the exact same spot we found the heartbeat (150bpm) at the doctor’s the day before, and color me convinced. Since that, I’ve felt it again 2 times. MOST AMAZING FEELING EVER.

Gender: When I heard the heartbeat last week, I was certain it was a boy. So what we’ve learned is that I have no idea. But right now, I’m thinking boy.

What Iโ€™m looking forward to: Family visiting this week! First time anyone in our family will see me pregnant (well, pregnant and aware of it).

What I miss: Red wine.

xoxo, Mallory

I’m on my 24th week now. During my 14th week, I used to crave for steak and mushroom sauce/ soup, and garlic bread–baby likes good food,eh? ๐Ÿ™‚ I was always sleepy at 14 weeks. Now, I can hardly sleep at night–probably too excited to see the little one. Congratulations on your baby! ๐Ÿ˜€ Motherhood is the greatest!

For the record, I can’t see any 15-year old boy skin going on anywhere. You’re seriously glowing, even if you don’t feel like you are. Also, I may have cried when I read this post. I’m just so excited for you guys. I love watching my friends grow through this!
